Urban Parks and Livability

My experience includes leading and supporting projects and programs to make our cities healthier and more livable through parks and other public places — in the San Francisco Bay Area, in major cities in the United States, and in urban areas across the globe.

Project assignments and advisory roles have included municipal efforts such as Jamaica Bay parks in New York; regional efforts such as the Irvine Ranch Conservancy and the Santa Monica Mountains in southern California; urban national park sites across the US; and international efforts with the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust in Australia, the Auckland Regional Parks in New Zealand, the Lazio Regional Parks in Rome, and Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town, South Africa.

“In the national and international movement to create more vibrant public spaces, Greg has been a visionary and leader. Imagine old military posts, an airfield, or highway tunnel tops transformed to dynamic urban parks full of nature, history, beauty, and a multitude of community benefits. Greg not only was able to dream of these results but played a leadership role in marshalling the public and private support to make those dreams come true. He is a valued voice, advisor, and leader in the High Line Network — a network of transformed public places in cities across the U.S. and beyond.”
